Most of us here agree but it seems that that concept is too difficult
for those in Govt to comprehend.

I was alluding to the 'sore loser' concept.
When we went to metric, there was a brigade strength anal retentive group
that 'insisted' we get 50 Built-up and 90 Highway - NOT the 60 and 100 we
ended up with.
As with all things these types push at us, when lost, the campaign is
simply re-started by the core arseholes in the group - and as we can
clearly see, they have indeed managed to get the 50 urban default set up
just like they wanted all those years ago.
The truly amazing thing is that the good fight was carried out through
literally generations of the fuckers wheedling themselves into positions of
importance.
Naturally, they're beavering away on the 90 default for the bush as we
speak.

This is part of the deal with our GovCo system where those pushing an
issue get much more attention and eventually a win at the expense of the
rest of us who simply want to go about our lawful occasions unencumbered by
GovCo stupidity and generally fucked statutes designed to smack us down for
what can only be described as victimless crime.

The anal retentives are 'on a roll' these days.
Being what they are, they're quite the biggest problem society has to deal
with at the moment, in all sorts of ways.
Of course, any and all ways available to the community at large to put
these AR's down are illegal. Almost by definition.

50 is reasonable in residential areas and so far around here at least
that's all it applies to with busier roads remaining at 60.

The "default" part is the bit that bothers me, many roads that are
currently 100 zones should have lower limits but many others should be
higher, IMO blanket limits don't work.

(60 that is.)

>Yeah - well, the 50 zones aren't posted. It's the default.

It's the default for built up areas in all states (NT still retains 60
AFAIK) which saves sign posting every residential street. Does anyone
have a problem with that?

>Pretty soon, the 90 Highway zones won't be posted either.

In that case the default becomes 100 (WA & NT excepted).

Nope - it'll be 90. Like I said.
Soon.
Place your bets.
